This piece has taken so many different turns before I ended up at the final product I can’t even remember where I started, but it feels good to have been able to reach an interesting point where I could stop (as paintings are never truly finished). Unlike the “tunnel” painting, the steps of my progress are not so much marked in the painting itself (tunnel has at least 10 abandoned paintings underneath the final one) but conceptually in my sketchbook. Most of my art starts off on an idea that I am interested in conveying at the time, then, as I tend to work very slowly, that idea becomes vague or no longer interesting to me and I start to see another concept in it.
