This piece has taken so many different turns before I ended up at the final product I can’t even remember where I started, but it feels good to have been able to reach an interesting point where I could stop (as paintings are never truly finished). Unlike the “tunnel” painting, the steps of my progress are not so much marked in the painting itself (tunnel has at least 10 abandoned paintings underneath the final one) but conceptually in my sketchbook. Fractured Teal House

This was done about a year ago now and was meant to be a conceptual piece but it went nowhere and I eventually lost interest. I decided it was finished enough to be varnished and hung as is instead of tossed out. Working from home, I have become very familiar with the house across from ours and have always been attracted to these kind of pastel colored houses popular circa (I’m guessing) the 1950’s that now typically belong to senior citizens.
